Accommodation at Villa Taman Ahimsa Bali

Every bedroom at Villa Taman Ahimsa has a colour theme that relates to one of the Hindu chakras. Each bedroom is circular; fully-air conditioned and furnished with a king-size four-poster bed draped in snowy white fabric, a small desk, and comfortable rattan chairs.  They are all equipped with safety deposit boxes for your special valuables, a Wi-Fi internet connection and en-suite bathrooms.  Rich, dark hardwood floors are in every room while the bedrooms on the ground floor feature high, vaulted ceilings and the two on the second floor have bamboo balconies.  The two second floor bedrooms are connected via a bamboo bridge.  All of the ground floor bedrooms are small, private pavilions dotting the grounds of Villa Taman Ahimsa.

The en-suite bathrooms include rain showers, and stone bathtubs within partially open-air sections of the room separated from the main garden by stone walls.  This offers a unique bathing experience under the sun or stars and surrounded by bright green flora growing inside the walls.  Stone washbasins and wooden vanities add to the rustic décor.

Dining at Villa Taman Ahimsa Bali is bursting with colors and flavours.  Sitting around a massive teakwood table that can accommodate 16 guests atop sandy-coloured chairs in an area that offers stunning views of the gardens scented with sweet smelling frangipani trees is an experience to savour.    In the evening, this area is softly lit with pendulum lamps hanging from the soaring timber roof.  With a fully equipped, modern kitchen at his disposal, the villa’s private chef will whip up something delicious to wow your taste buds.

He is highly-skilled in the creation of cuisines ranging the gamut from East to West so whatever your flavour preference, he’s sure to please.  Try some tasty local seafood spiced in Balinese style for a cultural culinary experience.  If you should have a special dietary request, simply inform the chef in advance so that he may accomplish the necessary shopping.  He’ll be happy to tailor a meal to suit your needs.

There are two types of living areas at Taman Ahimsa Bali, one that is entirely open-air and one with an alang-alang thatched roof, natural grass-made roof material normally seen in natural-styled Bali villas. The upstairs, open-air living area is furnished with daybeds while the downstairs one boasts a long table fashioned from an old boat, couches, and an old, gnarled frangipani tree growing up through the floor.

The media room is characterised by dark hardwood floors, a long rattan purple cushioned couch and decorated with traditional Balinese shadow puppets. This area features an LCD TV and DVD player and a selection of DVDs are provided if guests wish to relax to a good film.

The enormous 18 meter swimming pool is surrounded by relaxation bales with daybeds and blessed with gorgeous ocean views.  A dip in its crystal blue waters is ideal day or night and it’s even large enough to get some real exercise with a few laps.  The pool is bordered by a wooden deck furnished with sun loungers; a perfect spot for working on your tan or just relaxing under an umbrella.  There is also a poolside dining pavilion with a table that can seat 16 guests.  This alfresco dining area is excellent for a calm, meditative breakfast, afternoon tea or a barbecue.

Nestled in the arms of tropical serenity that is the village of Cemagi, Villa Taman Ahimsa Bali offers a wide range of activities nearby while maintaining its status as a peaceful retreat away from the noisy tourist hubs of Kuta and Legian.  Cultural attractions, fine dining and shopping are only a short drive away. Preferable area when you intend to book Bali villas with peaceful environment but also want to be close to all the happenings Bali has to offer.

For the best in dining and shopping the district of Seminyak is the place to go.  The world-renowned restaurants of KuDeTa and La Lucciola are based there offering beachside dining to an eclectic clientele hailing from all parts of the globe.  Their prime location offers breathtaking sunset views; perfect while sipping one of the unique drinks on offer at KuDeTa, like the grilled pineapple and black pepper martini.

Seminyak is awash with boutique shopping options like 2NDSkin for light and breezy women’s wear or Mario Silver for a sampling of the handiwork of the island’s craftsmen.  If traditional art is what you’re looking for, the Folk Art Gallery is located here with a collection of art and artifacts from all over South East Asia.  They even have a distinctive selection of Burmese Buddhas.

The Nirwana Bali Golf course is only a short drive from the villa where you can hit the links in style.  Consistently voted one of the best courses in Asia, this course was designed by the legend, Greg Norman and boasts incredible Indian Ocean views from the cliffs at the edge of the course.  The other side is bordered by the emerald rice fields of Canggu.

One of Bali’s most sacred temples, Pura Tanah Lot is nearby where you can make a pilgrimage for sunset at this centuries old mystical space.  Perched on a craggy rock jutting out into the Indian Ocean, it is still in use by local Balinese today and is said to be guarded by a holy snake.  Drinkable holy water spews forth from its rocky base that you can sample while standing awestruck at the beauty of the fiery orange sky contrasted with the deep blue ocean waters.
