Accommodation at Villa Asli Bali
Villa Asli Bali features a total of 5 bedrooms, one massive master suite of 130 m2 and 4 bungalow suites bordered by lotus ponds. Each bedroom is equipped with air-conditioning, iPod docks, high-speed Wi-Fi internet access, and safety deposit boxes for your special valuables, king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms.
The master suite is covered in teakwood and is furnished with a large couch adorned with soft oversize cushions and pillows. A distinctive, furry throw rug lies at the foot of the bed and the room is dotted with small, antique wardrobes. Classy curtains hang from the teakwood pillars supporting the timber roof and smooth floors made of aged hardwood enhance the character of the space. There is also a dressing area off to the side with its own minibar and an outdoor terrace with a sofa and chairs.
The en-suite bathroom features a large grey, stone bathtub bordered by a bed of rocks and tropical flora. It has timber floors and is partially open-air for an experience of bathing under the stars. Alternatively, you can use the open-air rain shower if you’re not in the mood for a relaxing soak.
The other bedrooms are their own individual bungalows, largely similar to the master bedroom in that they are tastefully furnished and include dressing areas with minibars and their own sitting terraces. Each one is surrounded by tranquil ponds, giving life to the ambiance of the villa. Some of them have decorative facades hanging above the beds from Torajan houses, called “tongkonan” from the island of Sulawesi. One of the bungalow suites encompasses two floors and includes its own fully furnished living room on the ground floor with the bedroom upstairs. The en-suite bathrooms are much like the master bedroom and come complete with stone bathtubs and private open-air rain showers set amongst the flora.
The entertainment options at Villa Asli Bali are quite diverse. The villa features a cinema room with 3 large screen LCD TVs and brown leather couches. They have their own DVD players making this area an excellent spot for relaxing to a good film. There is also an extensive sound system throughout the villa in a TV and bar room, and even the outside areas like the open-air living and dining rooms, pool house and garden.
Outside in the garden is a pool house furnished with sofas and a mini bar. The sofas are positioned around an antique teakwood coffee table while the room is illuminated with soft golden light from table lamps. Wooden Javanese statues dot the space while views of the emerald gardens provide the perfect relaxing ambiance.
The pool itself is an enormous 25 meters long and is surrounded by dark grey stone and the manicured gardens. The gentle lighting from the villa complex washes over the pool’s crystal blue waters and beckons guests for a luxurious dip during the intoxicating Bali nights.
The villa also includes a fully air-conditioned massage bale with views of the ocean where you can truly indulge in the tropical paradise that Bali is famous for while enjoying the services of a well-trained, professional masseuse. In addition to the air-conditioned massage bale, there are two open-air massage bales for your pleasure. They’re perfect for a rejuvenating massage among the cool tropical breezes or just lounging about during a lazy day.
The dining experience at Villa Asli Bali is second to none. This room features a large teakwood dining table lit by pendulum lamps while you savour the delicious flavours conjured up by the villa’s private chef. With only a little advance notice, the villa staff can prepare a wide variety of scrumptious foods to satisfy anyone’s palette; with a repertoire of cuisines from East to West. If you should have a special dietary request, simply inform them beforehand so that they may accomplish the necessary shopping. They’ll be delighted to oblige.
Location
Villa Asli is located in the largely rural district at the northern end of Seminyak on Bali’s southwest coast. This area is known for its flowing rice fields and proximity to some of Bali’s most famous tourist attractions as well as being only a short drive to the fine dining and boutique shops of Seminyak.
Hit the links at the Nirwana Bali Golf course, designed by the legend, Greg Norman. This course is only a short drive from the villa and is consistently voted one of the best courses in all of Asia. It features exhilarating views of the Indian Ocean from the cliffs that form the edge of the course and is bordered by the emerald, flowing rice fields of the neighbouring village of Canggu.
Near the Nirwana Bali Golf course is the venerated sea temple at Tanah Lot. This centuries old temple is still in use by local Balinese today and is said to be guarded by a holy snake. Perched atop a craggy rock jutting out into the Indian Ocean, it has recently become famous for its breathtaking sunsets. Drinkable holy water even spews forth from its rocky base.
The world-renowned restaurants of KuDeTa and La Lucciola in the neighbouring district of Seminyak offer succulent meals served to a chic clientele that hails from every corner of the globe. Both establishments are beachside and feature gorgeous views of the Indian Ocean. The atmosphere here is legendary and a great spot to spend an evening sipping a cocktail while watching the sun dip behind the waves. KuDeTa even offers a unique grilled pineapple and black pepper martini, a must-try.
