Accommodation at Villa Joss Bali
The four bedrooms at Villa Joss Bali are situated in a 2-storey building and are equipped with 42″ LCD TVs, DVD players upon guest request, air conditioning, Wi-Fi internet access (which is available throughout the villa), and a safe deposit box for your important valuables.
Three of the bedrooms have king size beds and the fourth has twin beds. Rich teakwood floors and teakwood framed sliding glass doors form the entranceways which can be propped open to allow the comforting tropical breezes entry to your abode. All of the rooms are awash in natural sunlight that only serves to enhance the beautifully carved traditional furniture.
The master bedroom and Joss bedroom suite sit on the ground level where their doors open to a gorgeous covered terrace by the swimming pool. Both of them have teak cabinet dressing areas, but the master bedroom is decorated with a painting of the Hindu elephant god Ganesh surrounded by colourful characters playing by the renowned Indonesian artist Made Gunawan, while the Joss suite is splashed in red colours and decorated with a painting by the artist Krijono of a proud Balinese woman in a traditional headdress.
The Mount Agung and Batu Belig suites are on the upper level and share a gorgeous balcony with a table and chairs; an excellent spot for brunch or breakfast. The Mount Agung suite is decorated with elegantly carved furniture and a painting by Atjeng titled “Odalan”, depicting village people in the midst of a temple ceremony. The Batu Belig suite is decorated with a painting called “Ke Pura” by Maria Tjui showing a village heading to the temple.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with sleek marble walls, black granite countertops for the sinks and large vanity mirrors. All of the bathrooms have walk-in showers while the bathrooms on the ground level feature bathtubs made entirely out of marble and glass doors that open to a garden area where you can shower under the stars in complete, walled privacy. In addition, there is also an indoor shower.
Villa Joss Bali is equipped with an entertainment room and business centre with high ceilings, teakwood floors and wood framed glass doors. This room is fully air conditioned, has a 48″ LCD TV and DVD player with a Bose sound system and a huge L-shaped desk that covers 2 walls. This area is covered with plenty of electrical sockets so you can plug in as many devices as you need.
The kitchens at Villa Joss Bali are stocked with all of the necessary appliances the chef and guests would need for a modern 21st century lifestyle. There is a service kitchen in the back of the villa for the chef and staff and at the front there is a guest kitchen complete with a large refrigerator, espresso machine, teak cabinets and a black granite bar with wooden barstools.
Dining at Villa Joss Bali is a sumptuous experience. The pavilion’s massive timber roof harmonises the tropical architecture and its dining table and chairs, made entirely of recycled teak, comfortably seats 10 guests who can dine in splendour with a meal prepared with care by the villa chef.
He’s highly-skilled in the preparation of a range of cuisines from East to West so there’s sure to be something to satisfy even the most discriminating of palates. If you happen to have a special dietary request, please inform the chef with ample time to accomplish the necessary shopping and he’ll be more than happy to whip up a meal to suit your needs.
When you’ve finished your meal, retire to the living room in the same pavilion for relaxing drinks. The huge leather sofa and armchairs will keep you comfortable while the cool nighttime breezes waft in through the wood framed glass doors bearing the scents of the garden. This entire pavilion can be closed off for air-conditioned bliss during inclement weather.
On calm Balinese evenings a dip in the pool or Jacuzzi is always an attractive option. The crystal blue swimming pool at Villa Joss Bali measures a full 16 meters and forms the centrepiece of the emerald garden. In the centre of one side of the pool reclines a beautiful granite Buddha statue from Java resting beneath a waterfall feature. The pool’s deck is made of non-slip frost-white marble and features bright blue sun loungers with umbrellas for lazing the day away.
At one end of the pool is the Jacuzzi which includes a small teakwood table and umbrella makes it as the best spot in the villa for cocktails. At the other end of the pool is a relaxation bale with a huge U-shaped cushioned long chair and dining table for open-air dining bliss. This bale also has a Bose sound system 45″ LCD TV and nearby refrigerator for cold drinks.
